Study Finds Updated Autism Screening Tool More Reliable

A recent study, funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development found a new autism screening tool to be more accurate than previous assessments. The updated tool, known as the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers, Revised with Follow-Up (M-CHAT-R/F) includes more examples and rephrased questions and is designed for pediatricians to apply during well-child visits at ages 16-30 months.
