As March 21, 2014 will mark the 9th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day, Kelly Bothum, from The News Journal, recently wrote about the work being done by families who are joining together to help advocate on behalf of other families raising children with disabilities. “The only way to make something better is to get acceptance from people in the community. The only way to get acceptance is to have them understand it,” said Rick Kosmalski, father of 7-year-old Kayla Kosmalski, who was born with Down syndrome.
